*Sayyid Abdur Rahman Azhari Award for Excellence - 2023*

Department of Arabic, University of Kerala has decided to confer the *Sayyid Abdur Rahman Azhari Award for Excellence - 2023* to *Sri. Kodambuzha Bava Musliyar* - the noted Arabic Scholar and author of more than hundred books. The award was instituted by Kerala University Department of Arabic Alumni Association (KUDAAA) in 2019 to honour the contributions of the Kerala scholars for the development of Arabic language and its great knowledge tradition. Dr. Jamaludeen Farooqi, Muhammed Baqavi Pookotoor and Abdul Hakeem Faizy Adresseri have been awarded this award for excellence in the last three years respectively. 

The committee has decided to present the award on 19th December 2023 at a function scheduled to be held at Kariavattom as part of the International Arabic Day Celebration by the UAE Consul General His Excellency Mr. Obaid Khalifa Bakheet Alkaabi.

The committee consists of three members namely Dr. A Nisarudeen, Prof. (Dr.) Abdul Majeed from University of Calicut, Dr. Thajudeen A.S. former head, the department of Arabic.
